Lough Glore Anglers Club

Making the best angling experience better

Lough Glore

Lough Glore is situated approx.2.5 miles outside of Castlepollard on the Oldcastle road.It covers approx.90 acres. The lake tends to be weedy at times during year.It has good stock of brown trout in the two pound range. However five and six pound examples are not unknown. There is also a good stock of pike and some large specimens have been recorded in recent years. There is good access from the road, but it should be noted that this is kindly lent to the club by a private individual. As previously stated ,respect for the land and the owner is expected. The shore is mainly reeds so access is limited there.Angling on the lake complies with fishery rules, so usual permits are needed. All details regarding these and boat hire can be had from the local tackle shop run by prominent club member Paddy Smith.Paddy is very knowlegable about  lough glore and indeed all the local lakes and is always ready to help with advice.Paddy can be contacted at 087 7703695.International enquiries at 00353877703695.
